Miscellaneous magazines

Two other types of magazines are often found with these pistols nowadays. The civilian type 2c above with white body.

Sometimes a black magazine with the Finish military Lathi magazine marked with SA (Army of Finland) can be seen.
Note on the picture to the right - Finish army "SA" stamp on the base pad.

In case of mobilisation of the army kept pistols and the equipment hidden in the Swedish forests. Everything was protected from rusting.

For this reason the army kept sealed plastic bag with kits for the m/40 which each contained two spare magazines (new type), loader for magazine, lanyard loop and cleaning rod.

The lanyard loops were of three types

  • round leather sling,

  • flat leather sling

  • cotton cord.

The 50 mm (= 2 inches) long twin barrelled oiler was kept separate from the plastic bag. One barrel for oil and the other for a small brush, which fits to the cleaning rod.

Front sight adjustment tool with acceptance stamp three crowns.

Here are two packages left and right with side-plates for the pistol m/40 kept as spare parts.

Here are three different types of holsters for m/40. From left to right:
Normal cowhide, pigskin and black leather for the Air force marked F15
(for Sam Browne type of rig).
